In a dramatic but very instructive turn of events the UDA party has strongly advised DP William Ruto to withdraw from the presidential debate to be held in July. Ruto allies through Communications head Hussein Mohammed said this was due to media bias. "Under the current partisan media environment, we have advised our candidate against participating in the presidential debate," Mohammed said and added that political news is a matter of public interest and its coverage therefore by journalists, media practitioners or media enterprises has to be done fairly, accurately and with all sides of the story being reported. All this fits into a pattern, especially when you include the latest sensational statement by Ruto claiming that close to a million voters in his strongholds have been removed from the voter's register by the IEBC.
